Luc Garant, PT, DPT

Luc Garant combines deep roots in Philadelphia sports culture with cutting-edge physical therapy expertise to help patients and athletes achieve their goals. A Northeast Philadelphia native and lifelong hockey player, Luc understands the physical demands of competitive sports and the dedication required for successful rehabilitation.

With his background as an Exercise Physiologist at Zarett Rehab before earning his doctorate, Luc brings a comprehensive understanding of both fitness and rehabilitation. His patient-centered approach focuses on identifying the root cause of dysfunction rather than simply addressing symptoms, ensuring lasting results that empower patients to maintain their health and wellness long after treatment ends.

As a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified clinician and dry needling specialist, Luc offers advanced treatment options for golfers and athletes seeking to optimize their performance while managing or preventing injuries. Treatment Philosophy

Luc’s treatment philosophy is rooted in the golden rule of treating others how he would want to be treated. He believes in a patient-centered, evidence-driven approach that identifies the root cause of pain rather than just treating symptoms.

His focus is to understand each patient’s unique goals, movement habits, and lifestyle demands in order to create a plan of care that is both effective and sustainable. Luc emphasizes high-quality movement, progressive loading, and patient education to empower each person with the confidence and ability to return to their desired activities and maintain good health and wellness practices.

By combining clinical expertise with genuine empathy and understanding, Luc creates a therapeutic environment where patients feel heard, supported, and motivated throughout their recovery journey.

Clinical Experience

Luc’s connection to Zarett Rehab began before his doctoral training—he worked as an Exercise Physiologist for two years, gaining valuable insight into fitness, conditioning, and preventative care. This foundation has enriched his approach to rehabilitation, allowing him to bridge the gap between recovery and long-term performance.

During his doctoral training, Luc had the privilege of working at various outpatient clinics, including:

Personal Background

Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Luc’s life has always revolved around sports and family. Growing up with four brothers (two older, two younger), hockey was the central focus of the Garant household. Luc continues that tradition today, playing in several beer league hockey teams throughout the tri-state area and currently skating with his youngest brother once a week—an experience he describes as truly special.

In recent years, golf has become an obsession, and Luc plays as often as he can. This personal passion for golf enhances his ability to understand and treat golfers’ unique needs and movement patterns.

Most recently, fatherhood has been truly life-changing for Luc. He and his wife welcomed their son Beauen four months ago, adding a new dimension to his life and deepening his appreciation for helping families stay healthy and active together.

When he’s not at the clinic, you’ll find Luc spending quality time with friends and family, on the ice, or on the golf course.

Why Physical Therapy?

Luc chose to become a physical therapist not because of a personal injury, but because he recognized that the profession represented the perfect blend of his passions: giving back to the community by helping others, problem-solving, staying active while at work, remaining close to the world of athletics, and studying exercise science.

For Luc, few things are as rewarding as helping someone in a time of need rehabilitate from an injury and seeing them achieve their functional goals. Whether it’s getting an athlete back on the field, helping a golfer return to the course pain-free, or enabling someone to return to their daily activities without limitation, these moments of success drive his dedication to the profession.

His approach is informed by the belief that physical therapy is not just about fixing problems—it’s about empowering people to take control of their health and live their best lives.
